In Chelyabinsk in the Southern Urals,
SMS Meer set up a large-diameter pipe
mill that offers product quality down to
the last detail. As the complete plant was
engineered and built by SMS Meer, all the
components and interfaces function per-
fectly together. A particular characteristic is
the extremely high degree of automation,
with no less than 47 machining stations in
the production process. Furthermore, the
plant is one of the cleanest of its type. The
