Past, Present & Future – 30 years of the International Tube Association
11
In addition to the ITA’s major involvement in the birth of
the Tube Düsseldorf and Tube Southeast Asia (formerly
Tube Singapore) exhibitions it has always been quick to
recognise the potential for the industry to develop in
other markets.
As the new millennium progressed it became apparent
that the so-called BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India and
China, as well as other regions such as the Gulf and Arab
States and Turkey, offered tremendous opportunities for
the tube and pipe industry to develop.
New exhibitions have been born that are sponsored
by the ITA and at which the Association has invariably
provided practical support and valuable services for
members as well as taking the opportunity to promote
the benefits of membership to an even wider audience.
The ITA has been very careful in choosing to support the
definitive exhibitions for these markets of opportunity
starting from the dates shown in brackets: Tube India
International (2003); Tube Russia (2003); Tubotech, Brazil
(2004); Tube China (2004) Tekno/Tube Arabia, Dubai
(2007) and Boru, Istanbul (2008).
For many years the ITA, although not a sponsor, has
also supported and helped to promote the leading
metal forming industry trade fair in the USA, FABTECH,
which has a large section devoted to the tube and pipe
industry.
