ITAtube Journal No2/September 2013
Editorial
Ladies and Gentlemen
Allow me also to take this opportunity to thank you all for your great
support in realizing the second issue of the ITAtube Journal. It is your
confidence in our competence that makes us strive to succeed. Today
there is a lot of talk about the Internet, social media, online network-
ing and modern communication channels such as e-mail, twitter, skype,
YouTube and so on. It goes without saying that these new developments
have a major impact on the daily contact with our members worldwide.
It is the internet that simplifies and accelerates our communication al-
most in real-time. But with all due respect to the benefits of today’s
communication systems, I am deeply convinced that nothing can replace
the direct personal contact between individuals, friends, business part-
ners, colleagues, competitors and associates. For decades now, the best
opportunities to get into a direct dialogue have been national and in-
ternational trade shows. As industrial partner of Messe Düsseldorf for the
tube trade shows in Brazil, China, India, Russia and the UAE, the ITA has
always been convinced of the huge potential of exhibitions for the tube
and pipe industry and for the ITA members. On a more personal level: I
have been attending trade shows for almost forty years. To call me a trade
fair addict would be perhaps an exaggeration, but to be honest I am still
fascinated by the scope of national and international industrial devel-
opments which cannot be seen elsewhere and above all by the platform
for business-to-business and business-to-consumer dialogues which are
nowhere more intensive and effective than at a well-organised trade fair.
For this reason the tube trade shows are a real benefit to the tube and
pipe industry. Not only the scope of supplies and services which are pre-
sented by exhibitors around the world, but also the quality of the visitors
is a mutual guarantee for a successful exhibition. It is for that reason
that I am looking forward to the TUBE Southeast Asia followed by the
TUBOTECH Brazil in September and October this year. Both trade shows
are an excellent platform for me to contact my “old-fellow” ITA members
to talk to them personally and to contact and recruit potential new ITA
members who are always highly welcome.
Please do not miss the opportunity to visit the ITA booth at the TUBE
Southeast Asia and Tubotech Brazil. Members as well as potential new
members are always welcome.
Greetings from
Peter Byroslawsky
