FINAL REPORT OF THE 8th INTERNATIONAL PIPES AND FITTINGS FAIR
Dated 28 - 30 March, 2013

8th International Pipes and Fittings Fair, held in the 8th and 9th showrooms of Istanbul Expo Center between the dates 28 and 30 March, 2013 resulted in success again this year.

The opening of the fair was carried out by Peter BYROSLAWSKY, Secretary-General of ITA (World Tube Association); Dr. Umit Dogay ARINC, Head of the Board of Directors of UGETAM (Istanbul, Applied Gas and Energy Technologies Research Engineering Industry and Trade Co., Ltd.); Serkan KELESER, General Manager of UGETAM; and Ahmet KIZIL, General Manager of Ihlas Fair Organizations. Officials who opened the fair by cutting the ribbon after the speeches visited the participants' stands.

Turkey's first and only trade fair in its field, the 8th International Trade Fair for Pipe and Fittings was home to professionals with a total number of 183 participants, including 111 overseas and 72 domestic ones and visited by 5991 visitors.

Along with the success of Ihlas Fair Organizations in specific fairs, the desire of the manufacturers for enhancing the pipe manufacturers’ qualities in Turkey, becoming a brand, meeting new markets played an important role for the industry to adopt the fair. For these reasons, the fair was held with a huge success.

Turkey continues to develop worldwide with its rapidly growing population, advantaged location and the contribution of this critical location. Without any doubt, one of the leading industry in our country is pipe and fittings industry... Recent developments, innovations and the unique solidarity in the pipe industry are among the other factors affecting the sector positively.

Producers, consumers, purchasers, practitioners, domestic and foreign representatives... Briefly stated, all members of the industry came together again at the 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair.

SUMMARY ABOUT PIPE INDUSTRY

Turkey is struggling for being among the developed countries by constantly expanding its vision in the globalizing business world where the competition increases. The construction industry is, without doubt, one of the developed leading industries in our country which export and manage to keep up with its international rivals.

Positive developments in the sector have an impact on pipe industry as well as other industries. Turkish pipe industry is known as the readiest industry for European Union and reveals its success with product quality and the concept of service.

The new energy investments in Turkey, increasing number of cities using natural gas, local governments who focus on the infrastructure sector prompt the industry. 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair was a platform where giant companies of the industry meets and show their strength and display the latest innovations and products. Being held in two halls, the fair was appreciated by the industry with its domestic and foreign visitor profile coming from all over the world.

The companies in the sector aim to expand their success of business not only in Turkey but also abroad. With its wide range of products and applications, pipe industry try to enhance their consumption figures.

International Pipe Fair gives the signals to be one of the fastest growing industries in the future.

8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair was adopted by the industry with a great happiness due to industry's rising graph of success, eagerness to show their success to the public, desire to be involved in international arenas, and the expectations of the sector to be qualified to answer these expectations and despite the global economic crisis, the fair resulted in a great success.

Following the success achieved in the fair, pipe industry looks forward to next 9th International Pipe and Fittings Fair which will be organized in 2015. Not only our company, but also our participants started their works for greater targets.

ISTANBUL EXPO CENTER

Located in the area of Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Istanbul Expo Center has the feature to be the most appropriate place to organize 9th International Pipe and Fittings Fair with its infrastructure, transportation facilities and technical specifications. The fair area, foyer and technical properties of Istanbul Expo Center contributed to the fair’s success.

As it is located near the airport and subway stop and in the meeting point of both TEM and E-5 highways, there was no difficulty for visitors to get through to the fair. A total of 12 thousand square meters of exhibition space, the exhibition hall and technical facilities contributed to the achievement of success.

In order to prevent transportation obstacles of Ihlas Fair Organization, the ring buses of subway provided advantage for fair visitors.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE 8th INTERNATIONAL PIPES AND FITTINGS FAIR

Our team, having entered into a period of intense study for the 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair to be organized successfully, did not have difficulty in reaching information as we are magazine publisher, as well. Pipe and Technology Magazine published monthly by Ihlas Magazine Group was the sponsor of the fair and announced every details and developments about the fair beginning from the preparation stage. The other sponsors were Building Material and Hardware Technical Magazines, a publication of Ihlas Magazine Group.

Our sense of publishing which embraces all the industry with the magazines we publish was the biggest support for us in the fair. People who read our magazines were the primary visitors of the fair.

Furthermore, this information was supported through all public authorities, web sites, sectoral documents and magazines.

Visitor data of 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair which was carried out successfully in previous years formed the basis of fair visitors to the next pipe and fittings fair and proved its success with satisfaction rate of 98% in the Consumer Survey especially in 2013

ANNOUNCEMENT OF FAIR:

Some of the promotional activities of the 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair are as follows:

As stated before, the main media sponsor of the exhibition was Pipes and Technology Magazine. Building Material and Hardware Technical Magazines were also among the publishings which supported the fair. All members of the sector in Turkey has been reached through these magazines.

Moreover, advertisements related to the fair was published and announcements were made by the relevant institutions in the most important magazines of the sector. News regarding the fair were given both in many web sites and general/local media organizations.

A meeting point of pipe industry of the world, 8th International Pipe and Fittings Fair, was supported by many large enterprises. As well as the institutions such as ITA (World Tube Association), KOSGEB, ISKI and BOTAS, also ALOSBİ (Aliaga Organized Industrial Zone) played a major role in the promotion of the fair.

Posters were hung in the central sites and Organized Industrial Zones. Besides, promotional activities were carried on by means of banners and billboards.

Visitor marketing was implemented by visiting the most important pipe technologies fairs of the world and campaigns intended for foreign visitors were organized.

The contact with academicians from various universities was established within the fair and invitations were distributed.

A total of 300.000 invitation cards were delivered as Fair Invitations. 250.000 of them was delivered through the activities of Ihlas Fair Organizations and the rest was delivered through the customer invitations by participants.

Face to face marketing activities were conducted and invitations were sent to participants.

Apart from all these, our news and advertisements were aimed to be successfully conveyed from the openning of the fair to the later stages in all national and local TV channels, Radio programmes, Newspaper and magazines by means of media.
